Thrift Shop Electronics Donation Pickup

SAVE the Computer and Electronics Activity of the BSTW Thrift Shop! Due to the upcoming relocation of the Computer Electronics Shop and the retirement of its longtime manager, Keith Shumaker, the BSTW Thrift Shop urgently needs a dedicated resident to take over the refurbishing and sale of donated computer and electronic items. Keith is more than willing to explain the current process and assist with setting up the new facility (location TBD). The new manager will have full autonomy over operations. If no one steps up, this valuable and profitable service—serving the community for over two decades—will come to an end. If you are interested, contact Keith Shumaker (contact info in resident directory).

Until someone in the community steps up to take over refurbishing equipment for sale by the Thrift Shop,  the computer shop will no longer be picking up equipment to move to Apt 1107 and no longer be open for sales.  I have been selling what I could at discount hoping to reduce inventory to minimize moving costs (charged to the Thrift Shop) for moving equipment and supplies to a new location (to be determined).
Please Update your list by removing PICKUP  and by Deleting
Keith Shumaker (retiring) and Bob Seigel (leaving BSTW).
Best wishes to the group and thank you for the many hours spent helping residents with their equipment: Keith Shumaker

       COMPUTER SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
The computer support volunteer group needs volunteers. No specific skills are needed, just the willingness to help older residents with their computer and electronics issues. Many times, it’s just a matter of resetting equipment or explaining how to use TV or cable remotes or helping to connect a new printer. We often learn right along with the resident needing help. It’s always a rewarding experience to provide free assistance to those in need. If you would like to help, please contact Keith Shumaker (see Resident Directory).
